SMS Notifications

Stay updated with text messages about your appointments and payments. By texting a BookIt-powered phone number, you consent to receive appointment and payment-related SMS messages.

Consent Disclosure

By texting a BookIt-powered phone number, you consent to receive appointment and payment-related text messages from the business you are booking with, powered by the BookIt Technologies platform.

  • Message frequency varies. You may receive 2–6 messages per appointment (confirmation, reminder, review request, and rebooking reminder for recurring services).
  • Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier charges may be incurred.
  • Consent to receive messages is not a condition of any purchase. You can book appointments without opting in to SMS.
  • Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
  • Reply STOP to opt out at any time. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts.
  • Reply HELP for assistance. You can also contact us at support@bookittechnologies.com.

Important: We send only appointment and payment-related messages (confirmations, reminders, updates, payment links). We never send marketing or promotional content.

How SMS Consent Works

Customers discover the business's BookIt phone number through various channels and can opt in to SMS notifications in two ways:

  • Text the AI-enabled number: When you send a text message to a business's BookIt AI-enabled phone number (issued only to businesses on a paid plan), you are providing express consent to receive appointment and payment-related SMS messages from that business. The first reply from the AI will confirm the consent and your options to opt out (STOP) or get help (HELP).
  • Book on the business's web page: When you book through a business's BookIt booking page and provide a phone number with SMS consent checked, you consent to receive appointment confirmations, reminders, and rescheduling messages by SMS (if the business is on a paid plan with SMS enabled) or by email otherwise.
  • Free plan businesses do not send SMS. If the business you are booking with is on BookIt's Free plan, no SMS communication will be sent. Confirmations and reminders are delivered by email and through the Google Calendar invite.
  • Call the business's BookIt number: If you call a business's BookIt AI-enabled phone number (paid plans only), the voice prompt will say "Press 1 and I'll send you a text so you can book right now." Pressing 1 initiates an SMS from BookIt to your phone — replying to that SMS continues the booking conversation and constitutes your consent to receive related appointment messages. If you don't press 1, no SMS will be sent.

What Messages You'll Receive

All messages are appointment and payment-related only. We never send marketing or promotional content. You may receive:

  • Appointment confirmations — immediate confirmation with booking details
  • Reminder messages — sent 1 hour before your appointment and on the morning of your appointment
  • Rescheduling notifications — updates if your appointment time changes
  • Cancellation confirmations — confirmation when an appointment is cancelled
  • Payment links — secure payment links for services rendered, sent by the business via Stripe
  • Review Requests — after your appointment, you may receive a message asking you to rate your experience (1–5 stars). If you rate 4 or 5 stars, you may receive a follow-up with a link to leave a Google review.
  • Waitlist Notifications — if you join a waitlist, you will receive a text when a slot becomes available. Reply YES to book or NO to pass. Offers expire after 2 hours.
  • Rebooking Reminders — for recurring services, you may receive a reminder approximately 3 weeks after your appointment suggesting you book again.

Brand Identification

All messages are sent by the business you are interacting with. Messages will clearly identify the business name. The BookIt Technologies platform powers the messaging infrastructure.

Example message:

"Your appointment at Acme Salon is confirmed for Mar 1, 2:00 PM. Reply STOP to opt out. - BookIt"

Message Frequency & Rates

Message frequency varies. You may receive 2–6 messages per appointment (confirmation, reminder, review request, and rebooking reminder for recurring services).

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. BookIt Technologies does not charge consumers for SMS messages, but your carrier may charge standard text messaging rates according to your plan.

How to Opt Out

You can stop receiving text messages at any time. Simply reply STOP to any message from us.

  • Reply STOP to immediately opt out
  • You will receive one final confirmation message
  • No further messages will be sent after you opt out
  • Reply START at any time to re-subscribe

If you opt out and later text the business number again, you will be re-subscribed to appointment notifications. Reply STOP again if you do not wish to receive messages.

You can also manage rebooking reminders separately:

  • Reply STOP NUDGES to opt out of rebooking reminders only (you will still receive appointment confirmations and reminders)
  • During a booking, you may be asked if you'd like rebooking reminders — reply YES to opt in, then choose your preferred frequency (every 2, 3, or 4 weeks)
